About Me

I have had the awesome joy of being the school counselor at Simpson Central School in Pinola, Mississippi since 2001.  I graduated from William Carey University with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology with an Emphasis in School Counseling.  I am a Nationally Board Certified School Counselor and Nationally Board Certified Counselor.  I am a member of Magnolia State School Counselor Association and the American School Counselor Association.  I have served as the president of the Mississippi School Counselor Association and currently serve as the chair for Magnolia State School Counselor Association.  I was also honored to be named the School Counselor of the Year by the Mississippi Counseling Association in 2016 and was selected as one of 6 finalists for ASCA's School Counselor of the Year in 2018.  I served a 3-year term of service on ASCA's Board of Directors and am currently a shadow trainer and RAMP reviewer for ASCA.  I love my profession and the students I serve!.

A little about me when I'm not at work. . .

I grew up in Mendenhall, Mississippi and graduated from Mendenhall High School before attending college.  I am married to Jason Brewer of Mt. Olive, Mississippi.  We have three beautiful kids: Gracie (starting her career as a nurse), Kinsey (Sophomore at USM), and Eli (Senior at SCA).. 

My hobbies include traveling, planning to travel, reading, and cooking.  I am only 2 states away from my goal of visiting all 50 states by the age of 50!
