About Me

I have had the awesome joy of being the school counselor at Simpson Central School in Pinola, Mississippi since 2001.  I graduated from William Carey University with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology with an Emphasis in School Counseling.  I am a Nationally Board Certified School Counselor and Nationally Board Certified Counselor.  I am a member of Magnolia State School Counselor Association, Mississippi School Counselor Association and the American School Counselor Association.  I have served as the president of the Mississippi School Counselor Association and the awards chair for the Mississippi Counseling Association.  I was also honored to be named the School Counselor of the Year by the Mississippi Counseling Association in 2016 and was selected as one of 6 finalists for ASCA's School Counselor of the Year in 2018.  I just completed a 3-year term of service on ASCA's Board of Directors and I am the chair of the Magnolia State SCA.  I love my profession and the students I serve!.

A little about me when I'm not at work. . .

I grew up in Mendenhall, Mississippi and graduated from Mendenhall High School before attending college.  I am married to Jason Brewer of Mt. Olive, Mississippi.  We have three beautiful kids: Gracie (Junior at USM), Kinsey (12th at MHS), and Eli (10th at SCA).. 

My hobbies include traveling, planning to travel, reading, and cooking.  My very favorite place to visit is Disney World!
